Oscar was adopted with severe demodectic mange, which was treated throughout his life.
His chest and front legs were initially black, but after treatment regained normal colour.
As he got older he was troubled with arthritis in his spine and hips.
He had hydrotherapy and regular acupuncture which kept him mobile in his senior years.
When he was 15 he began using a buggy which helped him make it around his favourite places, such as Lowther castle gardens.
